The Great Futures Mural
East Columbus Boys & Girls Club
3835 Forrest Road I Columbus, GA
The Great Futures Mural at the East Columbus Boys and Girls Club began installation on December 15, 2023, and was officially unveiled on January 19, 2024 by the talented local artist, Carlie Hedges.
In alignment with the mission of the Boys and Girls Club of the Chattahoochee Valley, the mural seeks to inspire and empower all young people, especially those facing challenges, to realize their full potential as responsible, caring, and productive citizens. This mural aims to serve as a daily source of inspiration for the remarkable students who pass through the club's doors, motivating them to pursue their aspirations and become the individuals they aspire to be.

The Great Futures mural stands as the second piece among the five murals envisioned for the Painted Spaces project. Launched in the Fall of 2022, the Painted Spaces project is dedicated to commissioning community-inspired murals in areas that have limited access to public art. By offering public art opportunities to local artists and bringing meaningful art to streetscapes and buildings, Painted Spaces aims to build community pride that connects us to one another and our neighborhoods.
